Job Description

A Well-Known Fashion Brand looking for a Freelance Associate Product Manager.

Role:

Associate Product Manager

Pay: $30- $33.78/hr (based on experience)

Location:

Fully Onsite in Studio City- may have flex to hybrid varies week to week (be prepared to be onsite 5 days a week Mon-Fri)

Start/End: Start ASAP after a few interviews.

This role is 3 months with potential to extend

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to manage pre-production style changes and approval timelines for each confirmed order.
  • Oversee the pre-production approval process—from tech pack turnover to final sign-off—to ensure all delivery dates are met, maintaining accuracy across internal and external calendars.
  • Communicate regularly with Design and Buying teams to adapt to late-stage changes driven by market trends.
  • Maintain clear visibility and updates of the placement calendar by product category.
  • Lead the final approval process to ensure timely warehouse flow and facilitate payment release.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality merchandise in accordance with brand standards.
  • Organize and maintain style, purchase, and order files, including responsibility for all PO revisions.
  • Track order and shipping statuses to keep the Delivery Exception Report up to date with accurate dates and notes.
  • Contribute to meeting seasonal inventory targets.
  • Support initial markup (IMU) goals by delivering quality, floor-ready merchandise.
  • Partner with the Product Manager to source product, negotiate production pricing, and place orders aimed at exceeding IMU targets.
  • Proactively communicate changes that impact other departments (e.g., ticketing, payments, delivery dates).
  • Quickly identify production challenges and recommend effective solutions.
  • Flag potential issues related to quality, costing, or timelines, and propose preventive or corrective actions.
  • Serve as a proactive, collaborative, and engaged team member.
  • Adapt swiftly to changing priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Build and nurture strong partnerships across departments, vendors, and stakeholders to drive results and influence decision-making.
  • Maintain and support the Essentials calendar to ensure alignment with delivery timelines.
  • Drive category performance, enforce vendor accountability, and apply corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Assistant or Associate Product Manager within a corporate retail or apparel production environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with import production and global sourcing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
  • A strong sense of urgency and adaptability.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
  • Solid understanding of global fashion trends and the Essentials aesthetic.
