About Our Energy & Emerging Customer Success Management Team

At DroneDeploy, our Energy & Emerging Markets Customer Success team is focused on helping our customers in industries such as oil & gas, renewable energy, utilities, and facilities management transform their operations through aerial and ground-based reality capture technology. We forge high-impact partnerships that drive operational efficiency, innovation, and measurable value. Our team thrives on deep industry understanding, technical know-how, and proactive collaboration.

Our CSMs work cross-functionally with Product Support, Professional Services, Sales, Marketing, and Product Management teams to ensure that our customers receive an exceptional experience. We focus on account health, long-term relationships, and delivering outcomes that lead to retention and growth.

Role Overview

This is a pivotal role on DroneDeploy’s Go-To-Market team. As a Customer Success Manager for Energy & Emerging Markets, you’ll own strategic customer relationships across sectors like energy production, renewables, utilities, telecom, and facilities management.

You’ll be a product expert and trusted advisor, passionate about helping customers extract the most value from DroneDeploy’s solutions. Whether enabling solar asset inspections, streamlining utility site audits, or digitizing infrastructure management workflows, you’ll be a key partner in our customers’ digital transformation j ourneys. This role reports to the Director of Customer Success.

The goal: maximize impact, drive adoption, increase engagement, and expand account value.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive adoption and usage of the DroneDeploy platform across your account portfolio
  • Ensure rapid onboarding, measurable outcomes, and time to value for customers
  • Collaborate with Sales to surface wins, identify expansion opportunities, and manage renewals
  • Analyze usage trends to identify champions, risk signals, and strategic upsell paths
  • Act as a strategic partner throughout the customer lifecycle – from kickoff through renewal
  • Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders – from field users to executives
  • Be the customer’s voice internally, channeling feedback to product and engineering
  • Co-create success plans, rollout strategies, and partner on business reviews
  • Forecast renewals and expansion accurately in collaboration with Sales
  • Support resolution of technical issues, leveraging cross-functional support

Requirements:

  • 4+ years in Customer Success, Account Management, or Enterprise SaaS Sales
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing enterprise relationships
  • Background supporting or working with energy/utilities/telecom/renewables customers is highly preferred
  • Experience in high-growth B2B SaaS environments
  • Strategic thinker and effective communicator with consultative selling skills
  • Comfortable with data analysis, insights, and reporting to inform recommendations
  • Highly organized and efficient with strong documentation habits (e.g., CRM hygiene)
  • Skilled at engaging diverse teams including support, product, marketing, and services
  • Travel domestically up to 20% for strategic onsite customer meetings
  • Able to work Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm CST
  • Must obtain a Part 107 license within the first 90 days of employment

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Salesforce, Planhat, Jira, or related tools
  • Prior industry experience in energy, renewables, utilities, or facilities management
  • Familiarity with drone workflows, mapping/inspection solutions, or GIS tools
