Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 13 years of experience in brand marketing for a consumer product or creative agency
  • Experience developing and executing social strategies from concept to execution and engaging communities
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing complex, large-scale projects, including relationship management and change management
  • Understanding of and investment in growing skills to lead work, develop people, and build community
  • Ability to interact with technical and business stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity in a complex organization

About The Job

As a Group Social Marketing Manager, you will drive integrated social marketing efforts for our product portfolio (e.g., Search, Shopping, Gemini App) across organic and paid video, display, partnerships, and activations. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape brand strategy, narrative, and voice for Google’s rapidly growing consumer verticals.

We are a centralized global brand team leading consumer campaigns across Google Consumer Apps. Our team partners with Product Marketing Managers to foster brand love through strategic partnerships, creative execution, measurement, and testing. We aim to ensure our products and marketing are helpful, authentic, and reflective of the communities we serve. Our goal is to foster a strong connection between the Google brand and our users.

In this role, you will lead social outlooks for Consumer Apps, manage creator and influencer strategies, and collaborate with various teams and external partners in music, sports, entertainment, and media. You will work cross-functionally with teams including Product Marketing, B2B Marketing, Media, PR, Legal, and Finance to protect and promote Google's brand.

Compensation

The US base salary range is $214,000-$302,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are role, level, and location-dependent. Specifics will be shared during the hiring process. Compensation details reflect base salary only; bonuses, equity, and benefits are additional.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media strategies for Consumer Apps aligned with marketing and brand guidelines.
  • Lead creator/influencer marketing campaigns to promote new features and engage users.
  • Review and approve social content across products, ensuring quality and alignment with social guidance.
  • Provide social media expertise to product teams and stakeholders, sharing industry insights and best practices.
  • Use insights to identify opportunities for innovation in social media strategies.
