Base pay range $126,136.02/yr - $139,060.80/yr Sacramento County has an exciting opportunity and is currently accepting applications for a Senior Economic Development and Marketing Specialist within the Office of Economic Development. The Office of Economic Development offers support to grow and expand businesses in Sacramento County. The team has expertise in business development, expansion strategies and works with local regulatory agencies to find solutions for businesses in Sacramento County’s needs. Responsibilities Under general supervision, the Senior Economic Development and Marketing Specialist leads, plans, schedules, and oversees the work of staff performing economic development and marketing activities within the Office of Economic Development while performing the more technical and complex duties as those being led; ensures completion of tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures; communicates policies, procedures and job expectations; and provides training to staff. Minimum Qualifications 1a. Three years of full-time, paid, demonstrated experience, in economic development, redevelopment or community development, business assistance, commercial development, public and/or private finance or workforce development; And 1b. A bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited four-year college or university. A master’s degree or other graduate degree is desirable. Note: if the word “experience” is referenced in the minimum qualifications, it means full-time paid experience unless the minimum qualification states that volunteer experience is acceptable. Part-time paid experience may be accumulated and pro-rated to meet the total experience requirements. Note: If the minimum qualifications include an educational or certificate/license requirement, applicants must submit proof of requirements with the application. Failure to submit proof of requirements may result in disqualification from the examination. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Benefits Retirement – The County’s defined-benefit pension plan is provided by the County’s Employees’ Retirement Law of 1937 and is managed by the Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS) Board of Retirement. Deferred Compensation – A deferred compensation program is available through the County 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan. The County will match contributions to the 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan up to 3% of the monthly gross salary. Medical Insurance – Choice of HMO and High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP), to include Kaiser, Sutter, and Western Health Advantage. Life Insurance - $50,000 in life insurance coverage for the employee and $2,000 for all eligible dependents. Holidays – 14.5 paid holidays per year. Vacation – Two to five weeks (based on length of service) of paid vacation. Sick Leave – 15 days per year. Management Leave – Up to 80 hours of management leave annually. Flexible Spending Accounts – Employees may set aside funds on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible medical expenses. Other Benefits – The County contributes into a Retiree Health Savings Plan.
